Nature's curtain call - Act 1

Updated: Nov 6

ree

As the curtain rises on a new season, we’re reminded that change isn’t just inevitable – it’s transformative. For years, Nature has been like the backstage crew: essential to the performance yet rarely given a starring role. Vital yet undervalued.

This fall, that changes. Nature is stepping into the spotlight as mainstream culture and an investable asset class – critical infrastructure that underpins our economies, our health, and our shared future.

Consider this the ‘Act 1’ edition, bringing you a sneak peek at the surge of unstoppable momentum driving us toward closing the $711B annual nature finance gap. Take your seat and get ready for ‘Act 2’ that will include key insights and takeaways from Climate Week. The show is just beginning!

What we have been up to

  • Over the last several months, EcoAdvisors has been supporting THE NAT (see our 8 practical moves), a new 10-year global movement to amplify awareness and accelerate action for nature. Launched this summer during London Climate Action Week, we had the pleasure of co-leading a solutions-focused roundtable discussion on Nature’s connection to finance that explored barriers currently limiting investment and discussed solutions to:

    • Turn the biodiversity crisis into economic and planetary gains

    • Rethink fiduciary duty

    • Rethink enabling conditions in the financial system

    • Rethink Nature as foundational infrastructure in investment portfolios

  • Building on this momentum, we’re excited to bring these electric and energizing Nature conversations to New York Climate Week, with an immersive NAT Gala kick-off this Sunday, followed by a five-part Solution Series that is designed to build community, shine a spotlight on innovators, and scale solutions in the following areas: Food, Finance, Fashion, Technology, and Futures.

The Times features Gail Gallie, our very own "Gail-force" for Nature!

Gail and Hari featured in Forbes Magazine in early September.

Nature has taken the stage — now it’s our turn to give a standing ovation through action, investment, and innovation. Together, we can ensure that this spotlight moment becomes a lasting encore for the planet and future generations. More to come in 'Act 2'!
